Full-time Heavy Equipment Operator

The City of Hancock Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator. Applications can be obtained from the City Hall office at 399 Quincy St. Hancock or online at CLICK HERE.

This is a Teamsters Union contract full time position with Health and Retirement benefits.

Qualified candidates must have a current Michigan CDL, class B with air brakes. Candidates must be able to safely operate many types of equipment to maintain roadways and city utilities. Front end loaders, bulldozers, graders, snow-go, trailers, sanders, dump trucks, vactor, small tractors with various implements, and others are used regularly.

Experience and skill in heavy equipment operation is required to qualify for the position. Water and sewer construction and repair is preferred. Ability to perform general physical labor is also required. Preference will be given to candidates that prove to have the above listed qualifications.

This position requires night shift during the winter months.
